Hope nobody minds if I set up shop in this little corner of the forums for this mod. The Demo mission is approaching completion, only thing left are debriefing, general balancing and things like that. Weapons.tbl has been completed (for the Demo at least) and ships.tbl is about half way through with only Vasudan ship descriptions left (again for the Demo).

You launch from the GTD Titan in preperation to engage the Shivan armada:


The Fleet stands ready for there last stand. Many of them know they might not survive the engagement, but they must still try.

If you don't mind me saying, it looks an awful lot like a BoE mission.  However as I have not played it yet I shall remain shtum(is that how you spell it?).  Not much point to this post then....I'll be quiet in future.

It is a BoE Mission actually (slightly over a hundred objects total). and its giving me problems. But I've worked around most of them (except the Collisions not calculating, but ive minimized that fortunately)

Its mostly just for the Intro than anything else.

That, and it's not exactly your typical BoE mission either

1. NTB Stands for "No Turning Back" as Topace said.

2. The campaign doesn't have a site (and due to my total lack of html knowledge, it wont either), so here's a brief description:

With almost the entire GTVA forces and systems annihalated after mutual destruction with the Shivans, it is upto the surviving forces at the Aleph system to re-explore the remains of the battlefields and pick up the pieces of a once-proud empire. But the re-exploration of GTVA space reveals a dark secret of what exactly had happened, and of things to come.

magatsu1: For the demo, mostly just .tbl changes and some music. But for the main thing, I'm hoping to have the following:
1x Terran-Vasudan destroyer
1x New Corvette terran and 1x Vasudan
Maybe 1x New cruiser terran, 1x Vasudan
And a bunch of fighters if I can beg, borrow or steal some from somewhere. :/

Thanks for the additional info, Singh.  I'll get that posted with tomorrow's mod post.

And thanks for the welcome, Gloriano and TopAce (although "him" is a "her" ).  I'm tempted to say that I've always been here, but I just recently restarted ATFW, so the welcome is nice.  I'm very happy to see that the Freespace community is still so strong.  Lots of great projects, too, so thanks to all of you for that.

update:
1. all music is done
2. I've acquired permission for most of the mods required, so only thing left is FREDding/tabling them in for the full thing.
3. .tbling for ships/weapons in the demo is complete! Only thing left is to edit the species descriptions if possible.
4. Only thing left is to finish the mission (mostly bug-hunting and balancing issues, but its mostly sorted out) and the intro mission can be released, most likely by this weekend!

A question though:
which .tbl will hold the description for the various species and/or factions in the game?

Species.tbl has the information in the intel section for Terrans, Vasudans, HOL etc. but it's notoriously hard to modicy for reasons unknown. If you want to use new species though, you're probably after species_defs.tbl, one of Kazans SCP additions.
