Star Wars Celebration III
Alrighty, after my purchase of the Star Wars DVD's, I have come to the conclusion that I will venture forth from my cave in the polar regions of my homeland, and visit Indianapolis and attend the Star Wars Celebration III in April 2005. :D I've never been to a convention before, and this one seems to be the mother of them all. And it looks like there might not be any quite as spectacular afterwards when Episode III comes out. So I cant afford to miss it. Now, I was wondering, who else has been considering going there? This is pritty much a once in a life time event. And yes, its still 7 months away, but reservations start on monday. :D
I have returned... Again...

I'd love to but...yeah. I can't get to Indiana.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

hell no! I aint gonna go celebrate what could very well be the clincher to the worst flop in human filmaking history

I beg to differ. The worst flop in human film making history is Battlefield Earth. :blah:

*shudder*

But I respect your oppinion anyway. What I also want to do is take my film crew along and make a documentary. :D

I thought it was Waterworld?

But go anyway, it might be a laff....

And, despite the hardcore fans knocking it, the DVD set is worth getting.....

Waterworld wasn't that bad.

And err... as much as I like Star Wars, Episode III isn't something I'll be proud of, and I have no means of staying or being in Indiana...

Ep III won't be a flop. No matter how much we all ***** about it most of us are probably going to go see it at the cinema anyway. It will make a ton of money and GL will take this as proof that he's not a complete idiot who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the SW universe ever again.

Damn ****ing straight.

That movie's so bad, it gave me retinal cancer.

I'd rather go to a 3rd grade, dramatic re-enactment of Napoleon Dynamite than watch that absolute ****e.

I didnt mean the worst movie of all time I mean its bound to be as much of a let down as the first 2 and clinching that trilogy as the worst flob in filmaking history... not by individual movie watchability but by the degree to which it betrays the original 3.

I don't think Episode 3 will be Star Wars 4,5,6 level, but it may at least be entertaining for action shots or something.  But Star Wars Fans are typically a good fanbase and can throw a bit of a party, so even thouhg I won't be going, have fun.  Party is a party, baby!

My point is that even if it was the worst movie of all time GL would still  make a profit on it. What we should have done is all refused to see episode 2 after the disgrace of the first movie. Had no one gone to see it GL would have had to change things in episode III to reclaim the fan base. As it is he made a profit so why would he care if the fans don't like it?

indeed, however thats part of what I meant as well is that the original 3 is sooooo good that no matter what the others are like there is no way people arnt going to go out and see them. Hey I'll admit it I hate the latest ones as much as the next guy but I'll also admit that I will willingly pay my money to go see the 3rd in theaters... Just the way it is. :doubt:

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

The worst movie ever made is The Patriot. The ****tiness of that movie isn't even funny.
