3 wings of Black Tigers hold off Several Gamilon Destroyers...

  Yes more to come...

They need dock points and engine glows, their rear is funny I don't know if I should use ONE glow or make 5 or 6 tiny ones....

The Gamilon Destroyer is sized, oriented adn pof'ed but needs turrets, ect.. Just a target fro now...

Thoughts?

Oh and Trashman remember what I mentioned before? Forget it! I found one ready for conversion almost. You got time to slip it in?

The modler of all these is Atra-Hasis of Star Trek modding and he has granted permissions... WOOT!

I couldn't wait any more...

Here's the pic of the yamato Model...

I'm having trouble getting it into a general format to work with (my milkshake SFC .mod importer is crashing) so I'm gonna ask atra to open it for me.

Lets see this go against the Arch Angel Heavy Battleship! ;)

It's called "when stupid Americans get involved"...

Still I can't be too harsh. Though we were raised on anime erroneously (we didn't KNOW it was anime back then. Only in the closing credits did we notice Japanese people were involved)... At least they made US TV bareable back in the 70's... There was a disturbing trend however that has become a blight. marketing has taken over creation and distribution, plus outright copying. Thanks to Starblazers I knew as a child if I pointed a gun at someone, they would probably die, when GI Joe came out 1000 lasers could go off and no one ever got SERIOUSLY hurt (until the movie, but then everyone survived - who was good that is)... kids in the 80's learned NOTHING! Damn American pansy programming, show the consenquences of your actions PUNKS!

Did you see the horrible butcher job they did to mazinger Z 1972 (the first anime with swears!) They released it in 1980-82? and called it Tranzor Z and god it sucked a$$! As a teen I didn't know it was the original anime just heavily edited and atrociously voice acted. I always though tit was a ripoff (I thought Great Mazinger, a seperate series, was Mazinger Z!)

At least the Japanese can take their children to a movie with some rough content and not get all worked up (in context)... Screen cap from one of my favorite early 80's robot anime mega movies, Great mazinger almost blew Boss Borotto out of teh water by mistake:

That ship is seriusly undergunned from below (and the Yamato was not the best battleship ever built according to the big battleship test, but nevermind...).

Too true, in fact if you saw the MOVIE, Farwell Yamato well, nuff said...

Anyway you forget the Yamato can rool over in a few seconds (big deal on the no underside armamanet. I would suggest a few AAA gun ports though.  mainly it has a third bridge underneath in case of emergencies. Plus as a TRI purpose ship it can float on the suface as any any other naval vessel and submerge like a sub (the lack of under side armaments was an oversight maybe because of those roles?)

Anyway give them a break, it was the 70's!

Oh and that artist is re-doing Arcadia as well , I see no problem securing permission for that model also.

Yes that is the Yamato 6k poly model  he is sending me the file in 3ds format soon cause I can't get my converter to get it out of SFC .mod format (milkshake crashes on 30% of my attemps on high poly models).

Now SOMEONE will have to step forward to convert the 3ds to cob, or after I merely change format TO .cob work on it to make it .pof ready... Can I line up a volunteer now???

The ONLY change I can see for now is those six hatches near teh bow adn stern areas. Those are TORPEDO TUBES. Now the hatches are closed. I would like the open and textued with a firing hole like the rear side tubes. That way it won't look odd when it fires torpedoe  (what did they phase THROUGH the hull?) lol...   Sound good to you people?

Note only the black tiger fighter is ready/in game (though it has no dock path or engine glows). I have no idea if he will work on wildstars real ship (it was a cosmo tiger later in the series, COSMO 1) in the other series the fighters were upgraded to cosmo II's and III's Ithink.

American cartoons are still pansy-like. I saw that GI Joe movie a few weeks ago on YTV, and as I was watching there was some assault on the GI Joe base and the Duke or whatever his name is gets injured. Anyways, there's this big death scene and the Duke says his dying words and I think (wow, someone actually died). But then some chick four feet away from the Duke says mournfully "he's gone into a coma!". Wow, what a fricken diagnosis. She must have a tricorder for eyes because they didn't even check his pulse or nothing. It was the cheesiest cop-out I've seen a while, a way to get a death scene into a movie without the good guy actually dying.

But American cartoons are still like that, sad to say. The Spiderman CGI one is pretty good, but then there's stuff like Justice League Unlimited where we have some unstoppable robot rampaging through some non-descript Asian country, and as it blows up tanks there's enough time for all six guys to pile out of the turret before the tank gets squashed. We even has some dude name Captain Atom exploding in some nuclear bomb in space, but at the end its "Oh, he's okay. Having known what was going on, but not bother to help, we collected his atomic power with this teaspoon and we're putting it into his new suit now"

I mean, GEEZE! The other anime that's on is heavily edited too, like Uniyasha. Though I'm not sure in what regard. At least that new Gundam Seed is 20x better than Gundam Wing, even if it is just a re-hashing of the original three movies. (I'm not a "new type", I'm a "co-ordinator")

I hear you..

I liked the first Gundam Seed (rumors of a sequel)...

The problem I had was original gundam was a good series buthard to watch cause I was an adult bythe time I tracke dit down and well it was VERy dated animation. BUT the story was good and kep my interest. Then I missed 0080 (infantry I think), but I heard it was excellent. I saw 0083 stardust memories and WOW!!! To me that is teh ultimate gundam series. you had mechs, fleets of capitol ships, colonies being sacrificed, secret super space weapons...Oh yeah and a love story thrown in there :D

Then it got watered down with G Wing... (AKA "Gundam for chicks") Obviously they were trying to get more female demographics, I think they succeeded. I mean I watched it all,but ONLY inthe hopes that it would get better! The mechs were excellent, the story barely tolerable, but god all the teenage ANGST!!! At least it wasn't teh sailor moon characters!

G Fighter was an even greater departure fromt eh original universe. It could have been a basic martial arts-revenge story with mecha thrown in, no NEED for the use of the GUNDAM name at all!!!

Now the last one is the WORST offender, SD Gundam... (PUKES) My God! The sacralige is astounding. These are machines that bring nothing but death and destruction while very few pin all their hopes of a new tomorrow on and these idiots pervert that vision and make them "KWAII" (cute)... HELLO, this is supposed to reflect teh horrows of unbridled war and the effects on both millitary and civillans, not mindless Saturday morning babysitting for latchkey kids. (BAKAS!)

Anyway I saw half of the second series of Yamato (The comet Empire) I found it almost as entertaining as the first one. I never knew there was a third series (The Bolar Wars) cause they never showed it on American tv (like they did the first two).

How would the GTVA like to wake up one morning to find a missile had "accidently" hit our sun and now pretty damn quick the SOL system is toast so everyone needs to evacuate like TODAY! (The Starforce finds out they are in the middle of a galactic crossfire and are merely "unfortunate collateral damage")...

I own Stardust memory as well, but I don't really care for it as much as the original movies. My problem is with the power of the mecha, which get absolutely ridiculous in Gundam wing (one gundam destroying a colony with a single shot??). Even in Stardust there have the gundam-additions and have them flying around blowing up ships with a few shots. I'm more of a fan of soldier-mecha, not super-mecha like the Valkyries from Macoss.

This applies to what I play as well, in Tie Fighter I prefer the missions in the T/F T/I or T/B as opposed to the Tie Defender or Tie Avenger. Or to get it more on a FS2 slant, I like being the soldier with the important role to play in a big battle as opposed to the central player in the battle who has to win the war single-handidly for the GTVA or something like that.

...do not mention the horror that is SD Gundam to me. Just don't.

Later Gundams tended to fall into the Almighty Cannon Thingie syndrome. It wasn't so bad that I didn't believe it with Macross/Robotech (hey, the SDF-1's main gun is practically half the frickin' ship, I'm down with it being uberpowerful), but when big guns get small...

My personal favorite so far is 08th MS Team. Partly because the only ubermunchkin is a bad guy MA, and partly because, horror of horrors, conventional forces actually fight the giant robots and give a good accounting of themselves instead of just getting blown to Kingdom Come.

I agree, I don't like the "OMFG A BGI FRIGAN GUN AND LOEN HERO!!" mentality that pervades a lot of things.

Bolo's -- 200-meter hovertanks with ridiculous guns, that can only be destroyed from orbit, with nuclear weapons, or by other Bolos.
Planet-destroying weapons -- The Death Star is the exception, as there were only 2 of them, and they were blown up. But when every war machine has to have a superweapon to stand a chance, it gets downright ridiculous.
Orbital Frames -- "OMFG TEH ONLY THIGN TAHT KILLZ ORBATAL FRAYMS IS OTHAR ORBATAL FRAYMS!!"

Causes every ounce of tactical possibility to go out the window, melt, burst into flames, and compress into a pinhead.

The sequel series to SEED isn't rumoured, it's been confirmed for months, and starts next Saturday (October 9th). I doubt GW was more for chicks, but "Diluted Gundam for Americans" sounds about right. Zeta and X were pretty good aside from SEED, 08th team even more so...

GW was diluted for chicks. It's a "pretty boys in armor" show hiding behind the Gundam name.
