http://swooh.com/peon/tincan/newweb/Looks like I decided to jump into today's modding pool of HL2 mods ready to get put into full swing!
Alright, so, over the time, I was playing Turok 2 again on my old N64. (since old games kick ass) I played the first level, and LOVED it actually. Very exhillerating, and so, hells yeah. I then play CS:Source later on in the day, and it seemed like it would fit the T2 scene.
Later on I jump on the Eternal Silence IRC channel and discuss this with Crimson, and we both brought back memories of Turok 2 and her splendor. We then decide, hey, not a bad idea! Why dont we go ahead and make a Port of Adia recreation for Half Life 2? (First level, only extended. The first level is LOOOOOOOONG)
The best part is, I got staff members, and they are all older than me! My concept artist and modeler is 20 years old, five more years ahead of myself, which is weird since I always thought the older guys made all the projects.
Anyhow, 3 people signed up within days, 1 mapper, 1 texture artist, and 1 modeler, and I myself am doing the mapping as well! In fact, since Half Life 2 Hammer allows you to bring Hammer's original brushwork into it, we can begin building the levels in the present Hammer Editor for Half Life, and when Half Life 2 comes out, immediately convert ALL of our brush's into Hammer-Source. I finished the initial port up until you reach the portal, and I would say it's coming along quite nicely.
My modeler will begin modeling the Entrail and all other creature models today, but we will focus on the Entrail first since you see it most often! Later on we will do the Plasma Rifle, and I have someone doing the pistol now. My texture artist is working on the textures in photoshop now, and my mapper is working on the area from the portal until you reached the 2-story area where you meet the first Entrail.
I still need, however, a more reasuring texture artist (since my present one is kind of skepticle about his abilities) and at least 1 or 2 more modelers to do the sheer amount of work required.
Anyhow, I was just checking if you guys were interested in the MOD I had made about a week or two ago, since Turok 2 seemed to spark many memories amongst the folks of Natural Selection. (A lot of them dusted off their N64's and began doing their thing)
I also have the PC version on my site for free, as well as the music, which is also available for free. Since Acclaim lost the rights to the Turok license, and no one has bought it yet, the game itself is abandonware. No suing for me!
