Just plain dumb.  Animals, depite having varying levels of intelligence, empathy and emotion, have no soul.  Therefore , trying to convert one to Christianity is stupid.  The question is, what was he trying to convert it from?

Honesltly though, I understand the desire to be an evangelist, but somehow I doubt getting yourself killed is the best way to spread the good word.
