So is the US, only they can label it "national security" and thus legitimize it. Oh well, so the UN is corrupt. That doesn't mean its bad idea, just that it needs to clean up its act.

If you think this sort of corruption isn't a daily occurence in most nations, not least of all the US, you're very much mistaken.

They have known about the issues for a while. Thats why I personally advocate not paying UN dues until it cleans up its act. Besides no one takes the UN seriously, not just the US.

No one takes the UN seriously because it has no backbone to stand up to the puppeters that are pulling the strings. The UN needs to become more independent, ands stop catering to the agenda of the few powerful nations at the expense of everyone else.

In such a large beaurocracy, a certain degree of corruption is inevitable. If you want to criticize them, go ahead and lay the same blame at the feet of pretty much every international organization, as well as the vast majority of national governments.

The thing in Rictor, the UN was meant as a negotiation forum not an enforcement force or a psuedo world government.  It shouldn't need a lot of beauracracy.  Just a meeting hall for the delegates who should have their own offices at their embassies.

It is no wonder Bill Clinton is stumping to become the new secretary general.

Everyone knew what they signed up for. If they didn't they have only themselves to blame and not the EU.

Time to torpedo another one of your arguements.

That was it's predeccesor, the Leage of Nations. The UN was designed to be more effective, and be that psuedo one world government.

In my opinion, I think it's REAL purpose is to gradually merge all the countries together.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside
