I've been toying with the idea of doing some mods for a while now, but I've been scared of learning how to use a 3D proggy. How stupid I was! I downloaded GMax a few days ago, and it's
much easier than I expected. As a result, I'm working on creating a model of the (very rough) sketch I posted in the "Design a Destroyer" thread a few months back.
Anyhoo, I've got to grips with GMax pretty well (or at least I think so), and here's what I've done so far:
I've only done the basic geometry so far, but I think it looks pretty cool. I'm going for a definite Terran feel (I'll try Vasudan stuff later...), hence the sharp angles. I've tried to style it like an old battleship (Google HMS Hood, HMS Vanguard, and HMS King George V in particular), as I think they're badass.

The prow shape comes from Great War (the actual one, not the one with the Lucy) era battleships like the Repulse and Warspite, and is influenced by the Imperial ships from Battlefleet Gothic.
Anyway, this is what I've done so far - I'd appreciate any comments and feedback, so get posting!
Cheers!
