If you MUST know all the Star Blazer info is being tested in the Robotech tables.. basicly you got two mods sharing space and it does wierd things When I get teh weapons configure as I think they should be I'll let Heru know and send them the changes (I'm just beta testing it). It's actually teh Cosmo Zero I'm flying VERY armed..

Sorry I'm beta testing for HERU, it's his mod. Tell you what though, if you can model PM me. HERU is doing Comet Empire era (Second season) and I want to do FIRST season (sorta a Mini-Mod) true it won't be extensive but I think it could be fun. [did not mean to hijack thread!]

Hmm...Very odd...the weapons use thruster02-0# or 0#a for the laser cores, which, if you're using the thruster upgrades, should be showing up.

Alrighty, then, I'll toss the texies in question in an updated zip, since I don't know if the 3.5.6 media vp is still hosted anywhere.

These weapons are evolutions of an effect I, er, 'accidentally' made when making some specialized heavy cannons for the Orions in the latest Nodewar iteration.  They aren't slated for any campaign, and if people wish to use them, they're free to include in whatever campaign they so desire so long as the composer is given his due.

Heck no, I can't model to save my life! I was barely able to follow the tutorial on modelling! (I still want it, though) I CAN do the tables, though. Just tell me what you want, and I do the tables. Whaddaya say?

I'm sorry to say I need to get Heru to ok releasing then, I may need a tabler later on but for now my series one mod is lacking of models... I'll keep you in mind though!.


Hey JC, I figured out why I didn't have those textures.  I didn't have all the  MV effects and MV seffects vp's with my root directory. in fact it was in an entirely different install. Seems I had some trouble making FS Open work at first and then I got it working without all the bells and whistles. I just moved those two vp's (ONLY!) back and it still runs!

Now you gave me an idea for the Thruster Particle ani... can the color be changed on that? it's like purple/pinkish now... Use that as a core  or outer shell and you got a cheaply animated torp! Or unstable particle cannon... Haven't tried anything yet but does this sound right?

I would love to except for one thing. I have no real skills at all... I can't model, I don't know how to make NEW textures, and I don't code.

   Seems like the only thing I succeed at is using what other people have produced to make new things (an existing model, with someone else's texture, with a new weapon, represents a new race, ect ect...)

The only thing I CAN do is voice act OR take a mapped ship and retexture it with my extensive game library of a few thousand textures  (from HW to Bridge commander and everything in between that is space related)...

So call when you are ready for Voices as now I have my hands full with Robotech, Trek, and SB:JTI !

If I knew what Lightspeed used in making the particle anis, I could probably whip up something.  However, since I'm not privy to his technique, I would wind up having to rip the ani into its subsequent frames, run them through a photoshop session to perform color adjustments, then rebuild the ani.  Not too tough a feat, in reality, but time consuming, and I can't make new particle styles without a lot of headaches and an excess of time.

Maybe if he skims this thread over, he might be inclined to share some of his knowledge?

Most of what I propose is too time consuming to just plain impossible.

However I am too ignorant to know better and too blissful to care.

   No need to quote an entire post unless many pages have gone by.
If you respond to someone usually just their name first followed by a comma or a colon is good enough. At most only a small section (sentence or two) is usually the max needed, People usually will get the point of what you are referring to if it is a recent reply.
