Saving JPEG from IE... Only in Bitmap?

Evening all..

My computer, for reasons better known to itself, has suddenly decided to only allow me to save internet image files as .BMP as opposed to my usual preference of .JPEG. I've not changed any prefences that I know of.

Does anyone know how I can re-educate WindowsXP into doing as it usually should?

That's interesting...mine did that awhile ago, then one day it started working correctly again. I never did figure out why.

try doing a right click>copy and then pasting it into [insert graphics program of choice, Irfanview reccomended].

a few months ago i posted a topic posing this exact same problem :-/  still haven't figured it out, but some images work, some don't... never got too much in depth figuring it out.  it's only in IE though, and every time i format it works fine, and then eventually the problem starts ... no clue.  if you do figure it out, let me know.  i'm pretty sure we have the same problem... it always tries to save it as "untitled.bmp", right?  yeah...

Yeah, I never figured out how to fix it up either. I do what Rictor does.

I have that happen... Save them as art, open a new rowser, file > open, then file >save as works though...
