What's the best proggy to use when getting the .pcx required for anibuilder ?

I use Irfranview but I think I screw up the pallete settings, I ported an explosion from a Trek game butit came out blotchy colored.. eck!

Bear in mind, when you go from 24 bit color to 8 bit color, the computer tries to average the 32 million color gradient down to a 256 color gradient.  It usually fails miserably unless a relatively advanced algorithym is used to compensate for the lack of colors.  In PSP you check the "Reduce Color Bleeding" check box in the dialog.

I meant how to get the actual screenshots (if you will). I was actually thinking it may have been MAX or TS.:doubt:
