There are ways of killing an animal that don't have to be cruel, or stunning.

For example, if they cut the animal's thrat and slice a cartain artery, the animal will die painlessly in a matter of seconds.

However, I think that, too is kinda cruel. Almost (yes, almost) turns me away from eating meat...

You missed the key part of the article.

It's a Kosher slaughterhouse.  The process meat for Jews who keep kosher and as such it must be processed a very specific way to meet those requirements.

Make you wonder though, how many members of PETA wear leather shoes or belts without actually knowing where it comes from besides the high priced designer clothing store.
