So not only did the explosives managed to get past French sniffer dogs and all the **** the US supposedly has at it's airports - but some random person now has 5oz of military grade explosives to do with as they please.

heh, I fly about once every 4 weeks If I let things worry me, I'd never do it, but at the end of the day the odds of dying through mechanical failure is far higher than the odds of terrorism.

The odds of choking on a peanut are higher than dying from terrorism - in the US.

Obviously, places like Afghanistan have a higher rate of terrorism. And in Etheopia you'd be hard pressed to find a peanut.

Interpolating a bit from that, I'd guess you could punch through the aircraft's skin, IF your explosive was backed with something solid like a main strut or undercarriage leg, but the chances are pretty small....

Though the officials say that its not dangerous, since it has no trigger or timer, and doesn't respond to heat or contact.

The chances of this ending up with someone who actually know how to use it, much less has the desire to, are almost negligible.
