And perhaps we should have killed them all, because until that point in history that was the generally accepted method of dealing with indigenous peoples in the New World, and it has worked out well for most countries in the long run. You don't seen indigenous peoples in the Caribbean, or the Aztecs, or the Mayas causing their governments trouble. That's because they don't exsist.
