For my programing class I decided to make a 2d Style shooter based on Freespace 2. I felt like sharing this with you all being as how it is due the 21st, i was hoping to have a playable demo out before that time to test and so forth, to give ideas and whatnot.
The game is done completely in Shockwave (yes shockwave...), and will be a stand alone projector. So far i have the ability to move the fighter about, shoot lasers, missiles are coming soon, as well as the pacing scenery of space, stars, nebula, etc....
Sometime this weekend, hostiles will be implemented. Hostiles such as the SF Mara, Chimera, Hydra, etc. (nicos best works) as well as a Moloch and a Ravana Destroyer.
The game will use the original effects from the orignal game such as Starfields, Nebula, Planets, textures, ships, weapon efx, weapon sound-efx, warp-efx/sound-efx, and more.
Now to keep an open mind, i have provided a image of the really basic level of the intro. so i hope people will take this into mind as the first true standalone project outside the realm of 3d gaming, or RTS's....
As the title states this is a WIP, so please bare with it ^____^
