Given the Labour scams we've gotten used to, I didn't think this particular incident was all that bad. Maybe he was lookin' for a way out. (uh, no pun intended)

Well, it comes as a surprise to me, but I'm not following British politics all to closely. What'll this do for stuff like th ID-card scheme?

Probably kick it firmly in the balls for a while :)

As for the resignation, when someone resigns over something as minor as that, you wonder what would have been found if people had dug deeper and what he is trying to protect.

He was an unpopular racist ****.

Glad to see him go to be honest.

I think people should cut the guy a break - He is BLIND ffs!  How could he possibly keep track of ALL the emails sent by his department?....

That aside, if he did knowingly abuse his power then he should have resigned as a matter of course....

You think that the nanny of his lover getting her papers in 18 days instead of a year was a coincidence?

All the fact that David Blunkett is blind gets him from me is the option to ask me to close my eyes if I got the chance to pummel the bastard.

Good riddance to the ****er. And sod him being blind, if it really was getting in the way of him doing his job, he shouldn't have been doing it in the first place. When your actions have such far-reaching domestic consequences there's no place for error.

John Prescott was hilarious earlier this week. In the most disgraceful show of face-saving political pandering he was trying to attribute Blunkett's, ahem, 'negativity' about his cabinet colleagues to the biographer, who of course would have had to run the manuscript past Blunkett and publishers to ensure it was not libellous. Labour is full of ****-eating morons, and the Tories are too sick and decrepit to take advantage of this golden opportunity. Bloody typical.

Wahey!  One down, 1,2,3,4..... (****!) to go.

I do feel slightly sorry for Blunkett on the fact that he's blind yet has overcome that... but on the other hand, he's a scaremongering publicity-whoring dickhead, so good riddance.
