But StarGate has also always tried to poke fun at its own cliches...often in full knowledge of the fact that its doing whats been done so many times but with a bit of humor added on. Again, thats what separates it from being average to excellent (one of the things).
I agree that's one of Stargate's strong points.

Still, I disliked that the solutions to defeating the super soldiers and the solution to defeating the Replicators were essentially the same - some of the stuff Anubis did was inventive, but other times he seemed absurdly dumb. Example, not using beaming tech during his attack on earth.
And really, he seemed like a clone of Sokar and ridiculously over the top. Meh, I could go on and on, but I just think they really could've come up with a better villain than Anubis. (The semi-ascended thing was nice, though) Even Apophis seemed like a better character - he didn't have to be scary, so the more we saw of him the better a villain he became. Plus there was the relationship to Teal'c.
But really, I miss episodes where there is an opposing force, but it's not good guys vs bad guy(s) and good guys win. See the episode with Aris Boch, the link, the gadmere episode, Chimera, and, of course, the Changeling. Actually, the recent episode with Teal'c and the girl (Which I think was written by CJ as well) was a pretty good ep.
