[Farmer]

I'm posting this at as many of the major gaming forums as I can, because I need the feedback of as many gamers as possible.  If you could take the time (it really isn't much) to fill out this short survey I would greatly appreciate it.

The story is that I am in the process of completing a project for my university course, and this is related to cheating in online gaming. I've already spammed all of the major game development companies, and now I need the feedback of you, the gamer.

The form is here on my friend's linux site. It only takes 30 seconds to complete and the feedback of anyone who's ever played a game will be relevant. Basically if your reading this forum then I need your feedback .

In addition, if you want to make any other comment then all information received will be collated, processed and squeezed into the 15,000 word report that I have to generate. I'm particularly keen to hear the experiences of anybody who's actually been in a gaming community that has been hit hard by cheating outbreaks. This is something I have been fortunate enough to avoid.

Took a look at it...but about 90% of the responce options aren't what'd I'd reply with so I canceled it.

This was the one that really got me,..the only responces deal with wether or not I tossed the game out a window   While I've seen every form of cheating I still play the game as much as before but I changed the WAY I played the game. Such as I researched the more currently used cheats, such as speed hack, tbl flipping, etc and made myself and my squad more aware of what to look for during a match in SW in order to stop the match if anything other than normal happened. Such as seeing a Herc 2 firing cyclops torps at our cap

The base blame for USING a cheat/hack is on the one using it, but with an exploit you could blame the developer for not patching the game and removing the exploit, IF possible.

Yes, Setekh, I'm sowing my spam everywhere and hoping to grow a report out of it  .  It's actually quite difficult to find active forums worth posting in.  Even when I do find them I have to register, wait for a password, login, change my password (so I don't forget it), make the post, bookmark the thread and copy the URL to a reference list.  All this with a 56k modem that trudges through the internet as if it were mud  .

I wish there was a big list of game forums somewhere that I could just click on and spam!  I have to use search engines, but GameSpy is a bit of a blessing because it has a lot of forums all linked under a few sites, like 3DAP.  The only problem is that some people move between the forums and see my post repeating itself.  Sorry for boring you, but this is important to me  .

Hopefully I'll be able to make some interesting articles out of it too...

Thanks for that feedback, Warlock, it is useful.  I'm not sure how there were only options that related to throwing the game out of the window.  The options should range from 'not at all' to 'stopped playing completely'.  I've had reports, over the last few days, that suggests that the form has been playing up.  Although I've not experienced this myself it wouldn't surprise me that you may have had a problem with it.  Seems to be working fine now though (fingers crossed).

That line will get you flamed   [j/k] It would on the Volition BB, anyway (where a lot of the people here came from). You could take your survey there (the link is on the front page, under Community), but prepare for a big Squadwar argument  

Btw, don't use the word 'spam'... use the word 'announce'.
