I thought I'd revivie this, seeing as I thought up a couple of new types recently
G#Ds - Dropship
200-300m , 3/4 AAf turrets, very powerful engines with a rapid recharge jump drive. Designed to carry (and recover) 1-3 fighter wings behind enemy lines, beyond their normal range. Rather than have a normal hanger, the Dropship has direct power / Air supply lines into the fighters onboard to keep the pilots alive and powered during the journey. It's uncomfortable as hell, but hey, this is war

G#Pr - Probe class.
Between 5-50m,
very fast, minimal armament and armour. Mainly used for advance scouting of remote systems, but can also be retrofitted with explosives as a long range missile.
G#Gs (Not sure) - Gunship class
Larger than bomber - 40-50m long - player piloted craft.
Minimum 18 primary firpoints, 2-4 turrets, massive secondary banks. Reasonably fast, but about as maneuverable as a beached Walrus. Used to attack suppy convoys with fighter escort.
G#GB (again, not sure) - Gunboat class
Between freighter/ cruiser size (160-300m), with 4 missile and 4 laser turrets (possibly 1 weak beam). Step below a cruiser, mainly for civillian patrolling.
G#? - Decoy frieghter
Small gunboat / cruiser, disguised as a frieghter but with excellent AAF wepaonry.
