Ok, FSPort 2.3, Medium, Black Omega. The previous mission (with the rosetta), i had just gotten a double ace, promotion to Lt. Commander, AND the medal for saving both Transports and the rosetta. (Most cramped award window i've ever seen)... So i go through black omega... Both transports make it out, and apparently fighters and bombers were all destroyed... So we pound, and pound, and pound, and the Anvil is destroyed. Not too hard. So i press F4 as i'm jumping out, and I see that i got the Anvil kill (68%)... So i go the the debreif, and I'm suddenly promoted to a Commander! So, apparently the difficulty and the Anvil points were enough to promote me an entire rank...

Nice. What difficulty were you playing it on? It definitely does sound like a possibility that it would've happened, depending on how hard the mission was set at.

I also got 2 Thoths, and 2 Horus's, for a decent amount of pointage... It'd be interesting to find out the difficulty to point ratio...

Actually, I got 26 kills by the end of the Rosetta mission, so that DEFINATELY helps... So I giess its actually:
30ish fighters + Typhoon > Commander points - Lt Commander points...

Did you just sit back and not do jack squat? Even on Easy, I can get above ensign by just completing objectives and killing bigger ships alone. On Hard, I would expect someone to be at Lt. Cmdr at least.

Nice!  I've wondered what that would look like... was never been able to manage it myself.

It's in the original FS1 mission too.

We're going to reconvert all the missions when we release 2.4 to avoid any additions or deletions of different stuff.  That's one reason it's taking so long.

heh... I honestly never noticed it... I guess i always asumed that a Typhoon kill was enough to push me over... And the countless times i played the Main cmapaign, i never noticed it...

This is Alpha 1 were talking about, he/she kills destroyers everytime he/she breaths out, if the destruction of one simple destroyer was enough he/she would be the grand supreme allied commander.
