...scarily, I have bought very few games this year that were released in 2004. The vast majority are older then that. Of those that I did buy and were released this year, only Halflife 2 and Halo 2 deserve to be on any "Best" list.

I didn't get many new games this year. Doom 3 and Warrior Within were fun and Breed was a let down (I think that's 2004, I cant remember)

Hmmm. Doom 3 was a pile of crap, Half Life 2 irritated me because of the lack of progress, Far Cry was pretty good...

I'd have to say one of my favourites was Beyond Good and Evil. Great little adventure game from Ubisoft. I bought it for £10 about a month after it was released - it can't have sold many copies. Excellent game though...

Oh, and I can't forget Call of Duty. Fantastic game.

Agreed. Its a fantastic game, one of my all time favourites.

Playing it now. I just reached the Russian missions, and boy are they hard. Bastard Russians, firing on their own people. I hates them precious, hatessss them.
