Well Raa it depends on what you want your ship to be - do you want it to be a special "secret ops" fighter? Or if it was a line fighter (this would probably be more logical) the darkness is fine - look at the Myrmidon and it's basically grey with some stripes - so yeah add some stripes and markings.

You could also have alternating grey colors.

umm, that's a hercules cockpit. it would never fit on that model. and besides, to make a new one, you would have to go through HELL to even make the cockpit model. then there's programming, etc.

Well, while it's obvious you copied (EEEVIL ) I really like the progression here. You're starting to get it.

You'll have to look for a bit more variety though, add little random details, and (most important of all!) you need to texture in some recessed plating, else the whole thing will look too flat. You can also achieve good looks by making shadows in the texture.

Also, the individual texture plating shadows need to be stronger.

It looks more like something you'd see from Freelancer I think, but that's not a bad thing.

I second that suggestion about looking too flat. If you raise some parts and recess others it would make it stand out more. (or am I just blind?). Got a winner there though Raa...

FYI Gargoyle sounds cool. I think Sthite2000 is working on a Gargoyle cannon lol...

LS: What did I copy? And how is it obvious? There are some places where I couldn't decide how to map it, and looked to other ships for inspiration, but I don't think I copied them...

I do have some recessed areas, but they lack some... stuff. There's no grime and there's no details yet... I'll probably need decals, machinery, pot marks... etc.

Edit:  For the name, I have it temporarily dubbed as the GTF Losna. It's Etruscan...

Edit2:  I'm interested to see how this'll look with the cocpit code, since there's 2 seats inside...

They're not deep enough. Also, the top part could be fixed a bit more according to its shape.

As for what you copied... look at the fins, the colour scheme, and err.. the TVWP private forums. You didn't copy as such (i.e. paste actual texture)

But yes, good work so far. Better than most people usually get

No, it wouldn't be 'hell'.  Modelling cockpits is easy - or at least as easy as you find modelling.

and you don't need to program anything to get a visible cockpit ingame.  Programming relates to fixing the clipping of the ship model when in show_ship mode.
