I'm baaack!

Has it been 3 days allready? anyway, back to work...I'll be uploading more ships and putting htem for download shortly. The only thing that's slowing the progress are the NAEMPLATES!
I have hte ships ready and all, but I wish to add nameplates before I zip and upload them...

The Abthys is 99% done. Has 4 LOD's, has turrets, has debris. All it needs is paths. I'm gonna do those and upload this baby a little later.

As for hte Abthys.. I maby end up giving it more detail, but only afte I finish testing the fighterbays paths and the stations weapons.

I hate to be rude, or blunt, but that's a pitiful, uninspired excuse for a Vasudan installation. Maybe I'm overprotective of my Vasudans, but...

well...

What on Earth makes you think they'd build something like that? Because it's somewhat reminiscent of a Starfish? Or because when a design doesn't work for Terrans, people'll just slap on Vasudan textures, and say "There! Vasudan!"  

I really dislike it. It's on my list with that Cairo from Bob, and the weird flower-type-thing that Aldo made.  It just looks wrong, and, perhaps I'm taking this too far, but it's insulting that so many people say "Hey! Look! It's Vasudan!" When it's clearly a failed mesh.


Ok. Rant Over. Trashman, I'm sorry. You're the one who get's to bear the brunt of my frustration on this one, but the next person who makes an ugly thing and tries to pass it off as Vasudan will get the same...

It looks like it could be the Imperial Super Laser from Star Trek vs. Star Wars (Star Trek Armada 1 mod).. anyone ever play that? I think it looks cool, but Raa is right in that it doesn't look very Vasudan. I still think the concept is cool, it's like a city in space or something.. meh... it's late, I'm done.

Given it's size I know it could use some more detail, and I am working on a higher-poly version of it.

This one will have to do for now, and I added it to the download list.

It looks very blocky and plain IMHO....  for an installation, I'd expect more of a sense of scale, too.

@Aldo - the fighter is 5500 meters from the centre of the station. The thing is 5800 meters long, 5800 meters wide...

That's my point exactly.  It doesn't look impressive or imposing in any way atall.  I think probably because it's too symettric, there is no sense of perspective and hence scale.
