Yup, as pointed out by the thread title, the winner name is GTSc Galileo. I was thorn between that and Odyssey, but chose Galileo as it fits a science ship better. Galileo discovered the planets, and a science ship does the same in a way, so i guess it fits like a glove. The BIG question now is: is that name taken? Has it been used on anything before? Because if so, i will fall back to Odissey.
The texturing is done, now all i need are shine maps and glow maps. And i was wondering how i could add some flashing light on the tip of the antennas and the pannels. Kinda like the lights on the Ulysses.
Final polycount is 9800 after triangulation. I cleaned it up a bit.
Also, this thing will be about the size of a Rakshasa, or a Deimos. It may feature two shuttle bays( not fighter bays, it´s not a corvette) in the top side of the nose. Maybe.

although if i may offer some advice, for the green and blue light textures, give them a white center.

I'm impressed. Are those originally created Texs? If so I'm very impressed.

Err... it has been UVed though hasn't it? 9800 polies and multiple texs could be very nasty.

Well Ulysses is in use, so I don't know if using Odysseys would b suitable or not.

Some textures are custom, but most of them are altered textures from existing textures i´ve found scattered on the net and some other games. I cropped the good parts, added diferent colour schemes, stuff like that.

As soon as i figure how to do it, i intend on turning it into a texture UV map, to save resources. But i still haven´t found how to work the baking texture feature in TS...

So, is a Galileo already in use? Lucky for me i think ahead and i made a name tag for Odissey aswell! I just need to swap it.

I recognise some textures from Jedi Knight 2 or Academy. I guess you have no permission to use them.

At any rate, that is a nice little ship, but without proper authorization by the authors' of the textures, you should not release it.

IF you like it better than get rid of the core one and name yours after it.  if people want both they will rename it (preferably as a MK number I, II, III ect.) Never let something as trivial as a taken name get in the way of your vision if yours is better for a campaign or an improvement over the original.

Damn, even that nameplate looks good.

Edit : besides, you should stick with Galileo. It's not really a matter if a name's been used before - people tend to remember models, not names. And that's a good model. ;)

No man!! It needs a bunch of uber-huge beam cannons to protect it's awesomeness from the SHiVans!!!

joking of course....it's excellent, but on a slightly related note: is it armed at all? Big weapons are a no-no, but even the Faustus had weapons capable of destroying..asteroids.

Maybe like Maxim cannons or UD-8 Kaysers? Or maybe an TerSlash on the top to keep cruisers at bay :nervous:
