yeah saw the trailer a month or so ago.  doesn't look like a bad movie, i must admit.

so it's a remake?  how was the original "Assualt on Precinct 13"?

It was a classic 80's action movie. The music reminded you of Terminator and the characters were more masculine than they'll be in  this one.  It was never meant be intelligent, just good blasting fun.

The original was pretty much a zombie movie (or a template for one); doesn't look like this'll do that.  Looks like they dropped a big aspect of the storyline from the first, too.

Bleh. The original (70s, not 80s, vyper ) is a classic low-budget film, complete with dodgy hair and synth music. This could be good, but if it is it'll overshadow the original, which is very good. If it's bad, it'll pervert the legacy of the original. Either way, I'm not too happy....


EDIT: Argh, and they've changed too much! That's not Assault on Precinct 13 any more.... And, yet again, they've told the entire story in the trailer. I won't be paying to see this....

The original was probably the finest thing John Carpenter ever did. Not only was the movie cool but he wrote the music too
