So they're going to resell you the same game?

No, its possible that it will be preloaded on the Xbox 2 HD. However, with the expanded power of the Xbox 2 it will probably be devoid of the graphical glitches in the original.

It says this in the article.

So it's the same game, working properly this time?

It worked fine before, however the aging Xbox 1 was not able to load normal maps and LODs fast enough to avoid "map jumping."

So they failed to program it to work properly with the hardware, which  is much simpler to do on a console due to the lack of variety.

Its programmed fine. The processor and graphics card are tooo sloooow for the effects to work instantly.

If you're designing a game for a PC, it's normal to not have it work with all setups. But when you're designing a console game, you have a set hardware configuration. Failing to program it to run properly on this hardware is a sign of poor coding.

But it works fine, it's just that you see the maps switching from low res to high res from a bit too close.
OMG!!!!!
I can see that on most game, it's just more obvious in halo2 coz it switches to bump maps as well. Stop being more thick-headed than you really are :doubt:

So they didn't do a good job scaling the LODs?

You don't need an artist's eye to see models jumping between LODs.:doubt:

Im betting that halo 2.5 will be released for PC or atleast be compatible with PC/Longhorn
Derek Smart is his own oxymoron.

Seems to me they hard coded the game only to work properly in the new Xbox, thus forcing people to buy the new rig. I call this whitemail. It´s like blackmail, only more deceived and cunning.
No Freespace 3 ?!? Oh, bugger...
