What are the names of all the terran, Vasudan and Shivan destroyers in Freespace's 1, 2, and ST and did they survive until after Capella? Missions CBAnis and cutscenes count.  If you saw one but don't know its name put GTD/GVD/SD Unnamed, seen in:

Actually it depends on random chance really. Sometimes it dies and sometimes it survives. This has been argued several times. In fact almost every mention of the ship devolves into a debate about whether it survives or not.

Do a search if you're interested and let's end this debate here for once

Can't remember the name, but the Typhon in the mission when the NTD Uhuru gets destroyed running the blockade.

GVD ????? (Typhon) - survives
NTD Uhuru (Orion) - destroyed
NTD Vindicator (?) (Orion) - destroyed (you bomb it at the rally point after the above blockade mission)
GTD Krios (Orion) - destroyed (your home ship in Silent Threat, as mentioned by InfernoGod)
GTD Carthage (Orion) - unknown (present at the start of the Shivan incursion in Gamma Draconis. Whether it gets out of Capella is unknown))
GTD Messana (Orion) - unknown (supports evacuation of 3rd Fleet HQ in Capella. Survives that mission, but whether it gets out of Capella is unknown)
GTD Myrmidon (Orion) - survives (collects an escape pod in ST)
GTD Unknown (Orion) - survives (collects an escape pod in ST. Jumps in at the same time as the Myrmidon, steals a pod before jumping out again)

Unless there is evidence to the contrary we will assume the ships survived, and that the player does a very good job and completes his mission to the best possible standard

There's an invunerable-when-hits-fall-below sexp setup on the Phoenica. It survived.


PVD Pinnacle, Typhon: Survived. The Vasudan equivalent of the Galatea, apparently: best or nearly the best destroyer in the PVN, it features in multiple FS1 missions.
PVD (HLD?) Prophecy, Typhon: Survived, probably. Hammer of Light destroyer that blocks the Delta Serpentis-Sol node as you're trying to catch up to the Lucifer. Some people like to take it down for skill points...but it's a colossal waste of ammo and time, all things considered.
PVD Hope, Typhon: Survived. Secured the jump node cluster in Alpha Centauri, with the assistance of the PVC Mecross and two wings from the GTD Galatea.

Not always. For some people the Phoencia hits 0% before the invulnerable event can kick in. Seriously, run a search on it.

Phoenicia is the one that pleads to command to allow it to retreat just before Bearbaiting or something, yes?  I never actually saw that one survive.

It survives more often than dieing fpor me, it depends on your procesor, beams are finiky.


Run the game at 64x and a sathanas will take a looong time to blow up a deimos with it's main guns.

It stays at 1% for me, i have only seen it destroyed once.
