CTD's with the fs2_open_C01172005.exe
I'm getting CTD's now .... with the fs2_open_C01172005.exe... Not the usual debugger type, but the "Microsoft detected an error and must close, send report?"

I'm using the 3.6.5 VP's with Kj's cruiser workaround.vp

This was working last night, and I don't remember doing anything FS2 related since then..

Going back to 3.6,  I can create a new pilot just fine, but my pilot doesn't show up in the listing when I choose the 3.6 exe.

How can I provide more information so you guys can help?
 Help me Help you.

:)

Last time I got this, I sent the report and it claimed it was an OpenGL driver error.
You could try updating drivers or downloading the C01202005 build.

Mind pointing me towards the C01202005?

http://scp.indiegames.us/download.php?list.7 doesn't list it, and I got no hits from searching.

I'm worried my pilot is corrupted, can that happen? I tried using the original 3.6.5, and get the same CTD with that pilot.

Nevermind.. Figured it out, had to Handcraft a URL:
http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/latest/C01202005.zip

Not that it did anything :(, I'm starting to think that my pilot is phrell'd.

Could it be the mission briefing? I can fly earlier simulated missions with that pilot, but not the mission I'm on..

What do I need to backup to save my pilot if I'm going to do a reinstall?

If your pilot is dead, you can create another one and not lose progress in your campaigns. .cs2 files hold all scoring/progress data for campaigns, their filenames determine what player they're associated with (Should be pretty obvious when you check out the data/players/single directory)

.pl2 files mostly hold the stuff in the options screen.

May not be.  If you are using OpenGL then try -novbo.  My crash fix got broken rather quickly.  It's happening in cases where it shouldn't now and I'm not sure why.  I'll just have to go back to the drawing board on that one.

I created a new pilot, started the first TSM, then quit out. Copied my original Pilot cs2 file, then renamed the copy to the new pilot. Started up the game, picked the new pilot, enter the resum mission room, and pow, CTD.

Is there any way to check this cs2 file? I opened up the copy in SCITE, and saw english... It's not exactly a text file, but may be readable for those of you with right experience and the right amount of squinting..

Any ideas appreciated.. I wouldn't mind starting to play this game again, sucks I get a repeatable CTD on my first improved nebula mission....

My Crash was related to the Zpack or music.vp

Either way. I'm now successfully blowing $$$$ up in the first nebulae mission.
