Then get a mini. It's 4 gigs.

Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?

I would get a shuffle but for the lack of screen and features (FM radio/voice record).

I will not get an Ipod because:

A. Expensive.
B. More space than I need.

I went ahead and got the iRiver via eBay. Got a nice deal too.

Why are you complaining about the space? You can always add more songs to the HDD as you get them, and not have to get rid of the originals... It's win-win. :wtf:

I haven't bothered with an MP3 player. I just use my normal CD player when on the road, and my computer at home. Sadly, the newer MP3 players have more space than my computer...

I don't have a portable MP3 player, but my car stereo plays MP3 CD's. So I'm good. Since I can't really afford to be wearing headphones at work, or in Calc class.

I did. I asked why you were complaining about space, not if you thought it was expensive. :p

The iPod is, and always has been, about 1 thing:  looking cool.  Everything that Apple puts out is less about function, more about looks.  Just like the rest of just about everything, which leaves me out in the cold...

Or were you referring to something else completely?
Crap quality, as in the way the player decodes/transmits audio.  These things were meant to be CD players, but they have a very simple decoding algorithm that gives not-so-great output.  Either that, or AudioVox makes the ****tiest audio hardware in the world, considering it wont take higher than 256kbps and it sounds like a truck ran over it.  It's just like an AS SEEN ON TV product.  It has the ability, yeah, but it doesnt do it well at all.

Umm, AudioVox is famous for their low-end, so-so car stereos, why should their consumer electronics be any different?

Who the heck was talking about an AudioVox?? I linked to the iRiver SlimX, which I own, and which rocks.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
