Sounds like teh disc is screwed. Get an ISO of the original and use that if you can.

Hey there. Im a veteran bz2 player. I take it your new to the game so here are some starter tips:

after you install the game you`re gona need to patch it to the current version wich is 1.2. Note that youre unable to see servers of diferent version than yours on the game list, so it might apear empty if you do not patch up

For most bz2 related downloads these two sites should be enough to get you started: ( you can get the 1.2 patch here)

www.bz2maps.com

and

http://www.bzscrap.com/

If you have any questions related to bz2 these are the community forums: http://www.bzuniverse.com/forum

Also I might sugest you to try out the Forgotten Enemies expansion wich was made by the comunity and features an entire new playable race.

you can get it here: http://www.bzscrap.com/downloads/Mods/BZ2CP/bz2cp_full.exe

One last thing to note is that you should not attempt to join servers that have the word ''vet'' on their name. These games are for ppl who have been bz2 for a long time, and they`ll probly kick you if you join. It might sound harsh but trust me its better that way since a new player would be lost in a game of that type and it would be unpleasant for him aswell as for the other players. There are servers for newbies and if you do get the FE expansion i`d invite you to join ~RIP~ clan (wich im part of) games, since we accept ppl of all skill levels and balance the teams as needed.

Check our forum here if you like: www.the-rip.com

Hope that helped any other questions you`re welcome to post on the ~RIP~ boards or on the comunity forums for assistence

Have Fun! :)

I was perturbed that the tanks were not as responsive as in the first BZ not to mention that the missions were only slightly better scripted and the whole story seemed to be a horrific attempt to rewrite part of the backstory of the original.
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

Not really played both Battlezone and Battlezone II before and finished the SP missions. Never did try the Multiplayer element tho' :)

My computer crashed a long time ago, so I lost the game and all the cotents from off my hard drive (this was on a Win98 operating system) so I got a new hard drive and installed WinXP now it wont install. Hopefully I can get it running.

BZ2 was impossible to find.  I loved the first and could never find the second. :(

BZ2 was one of the only games I've played online. The others being a bit of Countrestrike, and that refridgerator magnet thing. :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
