My 3rd contest entry, and I'm dipping back into the Freespace universe

Created in Blender and textured in TrueSpace, using Freespace2 textures with some modifications in PSP6.

A very heavy destroyer, almost Superdestroyer-class. It's 3100 meters long and armed with 1 superbeam, 2 BFGreen, 3 BGreen and 3 TerSlash beams, with 5 AAAf beams and 10 flak turrets.

The downside is that it's reactor and weapons take so much space that it can only house 1 squadron of fighters, so it requires a support destroyer or a carrier nearby constantly.

Three were originally built, the GTD Trinity, GTD Warlock and GTD Treblinka (I'm not sure about the spelling, an infamous concentration camp).

What is everybody suddenly "equipping" their ships with super beam cannons? Must have something to do with the Golgotha(sp?) right?

Small, very fast, very maneuverable and enough firepower. Excellent in packs.

Not bad, but I would make it a cruiser class vessel with slashing weapons as opposed to the cliche' "main beam cannon."

If you have this ship working, perhaps you could send over such a resized version to me if you'll let me use it in an upcoming project. (but with a re-name, different plot line, etc.)

It's got a pretty high poly count for a cruiser, especially if I stick some more turrets on it.

And I haven't got it in FS2 yet, I may actually have to remodel it completely because of those pesty inverted faces (that are actually the right way round when I render it  )

Excellent work. Although I would love to see a new Battleship class that focused on having lots of slash beams-maybe a bit more powerful than the current ones, but seeing a 2.8K long destroyer opening up with five or six slash beams at a target it was broadside to would be sweet.

I think some smaller ships, like fighters and bombers, are in order.  
- Eddie Kent Woo, Setekh, Steak (of Steaks), AWACS. Seriously, just pick one.

I suck at fighters. Every time I try to make a fighter/bomber it ends up looking like a cap ship anyway  

Oh, and I hate slash beams.

Ya know, before I saw it as a Super Class ship I thought it was a civilian cruise ship. If you shrink it down, take off the beam turrets. Put on three regular turrets and one missle bank on each side. Or just use your origional idea.
