To lower the poly count, well, reap the the roud "air intakes" on the side reactors, maps will do as good. for gun barrels, use squares. Otherwise, I think the poly have already a low polycount. If you wxant, I can help to reduve the polycount, it seems that I won't have to worry about UVW mapping

One thing: did you used box mapping? I know it looks great, but when you convert a max file to 3ds, the objects are broken into parts to convert the box mapping into 6 flat mapping... not very good for the vertice count (I did that for the SDF1, the max file had 460 vertics, the 3ds one had 1600, ouch!)
