i figured i'd stick this in its own separate topic, as i didn't really want to take over UT's thread..
here's what i have so far

The textureness on the hammer looks neat, though not entirely hammery. Shading and things on the shirt and glove's pretty good too, nice work.

i could make the "hammer" more like a object of light, and keep the shaft as-is.

not really, i just saw the bandana and sunglasses in the sketch, and took it from there.

It doesn't look as much like a hammer of light, as it does a mallet of light.

actually a hammer is most commonly defined as an object or tool used for striking an object...

i noticed whilst looking at the glows with an LCD flatpanel that PNG-8 wreaks havok with the glowyness..
