Do you deny this forum has been quiter of late? Do you deny that Sectorgame is quiet to the point of Hunter thinking of packing it in? Do you deny that there is a second offical SCP forum at Sectorgame? Cos if you deny any of them you are wrong.

No. My forum is not on same server than the site. I did plan to put it there, but I guess the php don't work on that server or I didn't install it correctly or something...

Anyway.. I don't need the current forum...  I wonder if it can be removed....

Hunter is really thinking of closing down?! Thats sad....

If anything GW has been growing activity and member wise at a pretty steady rate ever since it opened (about 2.5-3 months ago). The activity really kicked in though only recently when I switched webhosts, registered a domain name, redid the styles to look spiffier and hosted like 5 new projects...

Well, I think it's more than simply the silence on the Forums, but at the very least, failing luck, a downsize may well be on the way.

The private Forums are quite busy, and my own thoughts that Hunter would keep things open for the Descent side of things at the very least, but I certainly know that if I were him, I too would be concnered about how quiet it is on there.

I don't think SG Forums would die completely, it's sort of an institution, but it's needs some life other than in the download section

Grow up Cobra. I notice you're fine with Spam as long as it's your own. If you are going to get all possesive over your threads then it just gives me another reason not to visit your forum.

to the topic at hand.  I don't think it a bad idea to have a forum dedicated to your mod.  in fact that's not a bad thing at all.  except for one thing.  where will you put your attachments and downloads, your website etc.  and if you have webspace for that...why not put your forums on that webspace and host yourselves?

I don't consider NW to be a main forum.  Maybe that's just because i don't go there.  HLP, GW, and SG are the ones that i consider to be main forums.  When VWBB **crosses himself** died, a void was left, for the time i think that SG filled it.  I think of GW as VWBB reborn.  we are currently hosting 10 projects....including SG1 and BSG.  I don't think of the forums as a competition, but alternatives to hosting.  Currently HLP is not accepting new projects, neither is GW, but i can guarantee that Hippo is.  GTD Bastion is accepting projects for hosting.  if you talk nice to hippo, maybe the project doesn't have to be a mod.  Maybe something like that Campaign list that shows the branches of the story line that ummmm, ummmm, uhhhh, that one guy wants to do.  I think that while his name escapes me, the endeavor is worthwhile, and can really add to the experience of the game.  i am looking at it as sort of an FS2 sourcebook.  I like the idea, so hippo, talk to the guy before i talk matthewpapa and nighthammer into making an exception to our no more projects rule.

Cobra and Inferno...if you guys have things that you need hosted, a forum is not the answer, Hosting is.

In case you hadn't noticed every thread on HLP doesn't stay within it's thread 'title' for long. It's called 'flow of conversation', it usually gets dragged back on track eventually, but to post a completely pointless post, i.e. the wtf one, and then when other people go back to discussing FS2 Forums, you accuse that of being spam is more than a bit silly.
