Galactica landing deck WIP

Still needs much texture tweaking. Its a PAIN!!! Its either ubersize multitextures or performance efficient tiling. The tiling looks BAD. ::sigh::

At least the light baking worked well. Time to model the control room and some docking ports to protrude from the blue piping.

Its weird. The UV maps are not translating over from the baking (black archway textures). Anyone have problems with this? The UV's look perfect in 3dsmax, but the game doesn't place them in the right locations.

Max does funny things with baked textures; they are applied as a secondary layer and probably aren't exporting properly.  I've found the most efficient way to fix it is to take the baked map and re-apply the UV mapping in the problem areas.

Only the 'floor textures' need to be sharper. Or change the tiling?

I already announced my retirement twice, yet here I am. If I bring up that topic again, don't believe a word.

The lighting got brighter than I anticipated. 3dsmax had a mor e subtle take on the deck,

The deck so far only has 1700 polys x2 decks. That brought the BSG poly tally to 23k.

Still got to break up the space a little. Couple of cargo containters here there, ladders, catwalks, roadkill on the side along with 6 pack of beers. Can some find me some reference screen caps of this bay?
