I'm looking for a nice multi part turret (I.e. a base and barrel(s)). Anyone have one they can spare? it needn't be mapped. I need one for my cruiser, but I'm not all that good at making turrets. They never look good.

Any help is appreciated.

Err. Terran. Although if you come up with a convincingly Vasudan design, I wouldn't hesitate to ask for that, too.

How many polies is high poly?  My cruiser is only ~2000 polies.

IIRC, ~500+ triangulated.  So too high.  It's routinely pushing ships over the 10k mark when I use more than one at a time.

You should try to contact Raptor.  He had some popular turrets out a while back.

I have in the past, but it takes so long to get responses from him. He made four turrets for me for TVWP. They're great, but he's only online once a week.

If you aren't worried about textures and you have a poly budget for me to work with (and a couple of weeks to get it done - I can't work on it over spring break), I can give you a go at a custom turret.  There's a good chance I'll need a new one soon anyway.

I have one of those tiny yellow turrets if you need one (well that's what it was intended for)

It doesnt have a texture yet but it is UV mapped, and even has a normal map to boot.

It's a realy low poly turret, somthing in the range of 25 polies so i'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

and what kind of turret? flak? guns? beam? missile? other?

I only intend to use about 3 or 4 of them, but yeah, I want them to be a feature, and not so much just 'there'... if you kow what I mean.

One or two is just fine for me. I could use them on the corvette sister ship I made for it too.

This was gonna be on my Tiidan Destroyer but I doubt if it'll be ready any time soon.
Pretty untidy, but should be good if tweaked somewhat.

I'd offer mine from the Styx but they're too high poly again (like Strat's they're around the 500 poly mark).

well, I have one. I was making it for the re-work of the triest class yesterday. It's definately in the very-high range (3k polies, concentrated mostly around the barrels) but I think it can be refined and reduced greatly in Truespace or any modelling program.
