And also on that note, can anyone point me to a plugin for Mozilla Firefox that will let me run the MS Gaming Zone in Firefox, rather than IE?

I think everyone's gone to mercs. If you get it, which I recommend if you like MechWarrior, let me know and I'll play a game.

i have mech 4......didn't like how it became so different from the btech series and then from mech 2 and 3.   But i do still have it, and maybe one of these days we can get together and do some multi player stuff UT.

Also..... UT if you would PM me if you are interested in some other ideas that i have concerning mechwarrior, you may enjoy it.

I own it, along with BK.  Though I never play it due to my becoming bored with it.  I'd love to get Mercs, but I have not the funds.

I can't get Mercs cause no place down here sells it, and I don't want to ship it from the states.

There was so much potential in that game that could have been exploited in a new release...not to mention sensible briefings. That was the only game where the briefings had some semblance to what you'd see in real life™.

yeah, that MFB driver dude gave good briefings. I liked the lack of intelligence. "Alright, lance leader. There might be some mechs here, or maybe not, and there's some sort of building here and our probe got shot down here. Have fun."
EDIT: intelligence as in info, not smartness.

The bad intel was interesting, too.

mech 3 was the ****.  the mechs looked like the do in classic btech, not like the farce that M$ created.  one of these days we should instal mech3 and play it over IP.  That would be a blast.  I bet that we would all be labrats configuring our mechs.

I had a Vulture in Mech 3 that could go +100 KpH, had a full compliment of lasers, missiles, and guns, had jump jets, and rarely had heat problems.

Only problem with mech 3 was that the lag was impossible. Aiming 50 feet BEHIND the enemy is too much.

The one thing I didn't like about MW3 was that everything happened on one planet. It didn't have the creative maps that MW2 or Ghost Bear's Legacy had.

MW4 was the same, limited to one planet and its moon. MW4 Mercs though had some nice variation here and there.

if you were aiming behind your enemy it's no wonder you missed.....come on, we'll get in some scats and i will teach you how to lag shoot.

by the way...scat with 5 ams, jump jets, full armor, 6 er meds grouped 4 and 2, targetting comp.  the rest went into engines and heat sinks.

Your vulture must have been running small lasers, which don't get me wrong, most of the c1 players preferred to have a bunch of smalls...very effective.  10 smalls would whip ass.
