And that's whats wrong with it. When you look at Yoda or Palpatine they just SCREAM Counsular (or jedi that specialises in force Powers, saber dueling being his weaker point)..

Lucas just hasn't been able to make villians like he used to. Even the Emperor pales in comparison to Vader, and in fact, Sidious is quite bad in comparison to his future self.

I thought Darth Maul was a very effective villain because of the different approach they took with him. Instead of the usual quiet, brooding evil that characterized most Siths, they gave him a crazed, rage-driven look, like my cat when he's pissed off. (Or when he wants to play... I can't tell the difference....)
