Been trying to get cutscenes to work.  So far I've tried putting the avi I want in the main directory, and the data/movies directory.  It's an avi encoded with the DivX 5.1.1 codec, it plays fine in Windows Media Player.

Under the campaign editor 'briefing cutscene' entry, I've tried referencing it as filename, and filename.avi.  Whether I put the extension or not makes no difference.

Can anyone tell me what my problem may be?

I've tried this using both the official 3.6.5 build and the fs2_open_ex build.

3.6.5 doesn't play movies. Get this build instead.

Nothing you did wrong. It's a bug in the build.

Odd. Try calling the file intro.avi and seeing if it is played when FS2 starts.

You must not be in windowed mode BTW. Movies won't work if you're running FS2_Open in a window at all.

Whoops.  Works now.

BTW: It also works with fs2_open_ex.
