Rebels and Renegades
Or whatever the **** the mission is called.

The Hinton keeps ramming the Iceni until it DIES from collision damage.

Might wanna look into that.

That happens because the waypoint are wrong, I think.
It don't believe is an error in the code itself.

But, as always, I could be wrong.

It's a problem with the mission.

I have, many times.  Each ship goes to the same waypoint, so if they get there at the same time, they crash into each other.  It tends to vary with the damage each ship incurs.  The solution is to send each ship to a different waypoint.

The Port v2.3 contains a fixed version of this mission. :)

Ideally the Hinton and the Iceni should arrive at the waypoint at sufficiently different times for this to work ok, but that doesn't seem to happen very often.  Typically if you do a good enough job of protecting the science cruiser, it will keep pace with the Iceni (which slows down as it incurs damage to its engines from Vasudan attack) and will collide at the node.  If you let a couple of asteroids get through and damage the Hinton's engines, or keep the Iceni's engines intact, the timing works out.  The Iceni is among the fastest capital ships in the game so unless it loses an engine it should get there and jump in time to clear the Hinton's approach.

Though once I had the Hinton get there and sit in the Iceni's exit path as the Iceni jumped.  I was forced to watch helplessly as the Hinton sped away at 200+ m/s.  When the Hinton finally got its bearings on the navpoint again, it was 5km away and right in the middle of an active asteroid field.  Needless to say, I was unable to save it and was therefore very ticked at its stupidity.

Port? Why the port? Isn't that FS1? Shouldn't the SCP itself be able to manage this?

The SCP doesn't make changes that override mission settings without the user having a say in the matter.  Beta-testing or fixing other campaigns' missions is not what the SCP does.  This is a matter best left to an independent project that wants to fix the few bugs in the FS2 main campaign.

It's not really the Port's department either, but since we were dealing with the FS1 main campaign, we figured we'd patch the FS2 main campaign too.

You don't want to know how many times this error has made me lose the Hinton. :p This has to rank up there as one of the most annoying missions to get through.

Fair enough, as long as it works.
