I half expected that for a second. But since the wounds seem to be in the chest/gut I'm betting Adama is just going to be out of it entirely (on life support in a coma) for a few episodes. Maybe even bed-ridden for a chunk of the season.

He'll be out long enough that the Tigh's wife and Zarak(?) will cause quite a bit of trouble.

Probably have a few episodes centering around a power-struggle on the Galactica.....
