Anyone got a good suggestion for removing spyware without reinstalling Windoze and such?

The last day or so i'm starting to get popups that advertise spyware removal crap!!!!

Fecking annoying.

Must have hit a site yesterday that installed it, past my firewall and anti virus software....

Spybot Search and Destroy works quite well for this purpose.

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ -Spybot
http://www.lavasoft.com/ - Adaware

EDIT: I would recommend a clean install of Windows if possible, I did a few weeks ago and it runs like a dream...

Go to microsoft.com and download their anti-spyware (BETA) program

I might do that if it persists.  Just installed Ad-Aware and it picked up some stuff that Spybot missed.  Hopefully that fixed it.  Thanks guys.

  • I will never leave.
If you are, it isn't good enough.  Get the Maxthon shell, and enjoy the extras of firefox, without the crappy layout.

Crappy layout in Firefox? I'm really not sure what you could not like about it's layout. What, do you miss the random buttons that appear on your toolbar in IE from installing various apps?

I love Firefox...got the weather and media player controls right next to the URL bar.

I've had no spyware problems since I reinstalled XP and not touched IE.

Firefox 0.3 was very disappointing but I got back to it on version 0.7 and I've been with it ever since.  Faster, more stable, and less susceptible to spyware than IE.  A billion times better.
