Capital ship laser effects
A few weeks ago when I was having technical problems with my laptop I started playing around with Lightspeed’s and DaBrain’s weapon effects. I updated the look of the Terran and Shiven Turret lasers. Pics and the .rar file can be found here.

I was trying to do this a while ago. We still need muzzle flashes for lasers enabled though, these look good.

I could've sworn I saw a muzzle flash in a screenshot already.

Phreak got it so that a muzzle flash does appear at the gun points for lasers. They don’t move with the ship or turret so it looks kind of funny but for a capital ship this shouldn’t be too bad.

That's be a nice effect for ballistic weapons if they left a 'puff' which faded over a couple of seconds though ;)

Nice to see that at least ONE person uses my regunned version of the Orion...
...There ought to be something surreal about a Zoid offering romantic advice...and yet there is not. It seems perfectly normal that the Liger is giving Bit advice on relationships, and it shouldn't, but it does. Dangit man, you've confused me again.[/I]

I use the up-gunned version in my own WIP campaign, but now that I've got Bob/Stratcom's hi-poly Orion, I'm wishing that someone would re-do the turret layout of the latter to match your up-gunned version.  That way there wouldn't be such a drastic change in ship quality between a standard model, and one that (in the context of the campaign) is supposed to be very much supperior.

I kinda like the turrets on the up-gunned version better than the ones on the hi-poly Orion.

TrashMan: Screen shots of the lasers can be found through the link in my first post.

I might do a version for the hi-poly Orion, but it might be a while.  Kind of gotten distracted by other things.

Also, how can I put this, I'm not that keen on it (the hi-poly Orion):nervous:  The hull is just that bit too busy.  GalEmp's adjusted reskin amde it look better though.
