Dont feel bad i lost 2 megathrons a couple weeks ago each fitted with 7 425mm IIs as well as tech 2 everything else fitted. Each bs costed approx 200mil when the insurance covered about 100 of it. Combat does get expensive.

Is EVE like a glorified version of Freelancer or something?

I got bored of freelancer real fast. This looks like it might be the same deal.

Sort of, but not really. There is a lot more to EVE. The combat is tactical, like Nexus. Market rates change based on what the players do. People can drive prices up, or down.

Hmm, I doubt it would be good for me either way.
Either I would get hooked and spend the little free time I have playing it, or I would just get bored of it and not play it at all.

Though I must admit it does sound somewhat interesting.

It's like Freelancer meets Iwar in an MMORPG... with a lot more added for good luck.

Meh...I'm too poor to afford monthly subscriptions...or a subscription in general. The trial would be my only option, and on a crappy computer with 56K, i'd still be screwed.

Oh yeah, and one more thing that makes EVE different from freelancer... its huge. Like something around 5000 solar systems where freelancer was what 42? Also, the size of each solar system is actual... it would take you years if you tried to impulse from one end to the other... which doesnt exist because the systems were made in grids, which theoretically can keep going on forever.

and imo the 0.0 systems are the most interesting and exciting places to hang around, no rules no restrictions.:)

I've actually started to get good at blockade running. Trying to get out of MHC and into Harroule is fun. Had one guy chase me all the way from 31-MLU to the Harroule gate in MHC. That was fun. Thank god the Crucifier has 3 low slots.

Here is a suggestion... get about 5 to 6 loyal people together, train up to use assault ships (Frigate 5, Mechanic 5 are the main ones check ingame for the secondarys) make sure you have a mix raced squad, get some tech 2 small guns, and go take on some battleships. The assault frigs range from 12.5-23mil each, so get some money first :)
