Agreed...

Let's teach him how to say this in Korean and throw him into some place where all the SC players meet....and then......force him to scream this sentence several times...:shaking:

We'll visit you in hospital, I promise:nod:.

I don't have much use for old games because, well... new games are better.

Right. Because the buckets of crap they're passing off as 'games' these days are sooooooo much better.

SC is good because of it's replayability, and it's multiplayer (which is still free, BTW)

Agreed. Starcraft is good - no, not good, but damned good! It's one of the only games other than WC3 that actually has properly and well balanced units, excellent gameplay and all comes along with an interesting story.

There are new games that have good storylines and gameplay, so given the choice between those and old games with crappy graphics, I would much rather play the ones that also look nice. It's like watching really dated movies; they might have good ideas behind them but I just can't get past the ridiculous music and dumb camera angles.

**** you.

Starcraft is one of the best multiplayer masterpieces ever. There are still over 60k players online at a given time even though the game was made in 1998.

Starcraft is still Korea's national game.  Starcraft is still in the top 10 most played games in the world, even though it's 7 years old (and yes, we know CS is still well played too).

Don't get me wrong, i love other games... i play WC3 more than i play SC nowadays... and WC3 may have flashier graphics, but it's a newer game, and it STILL doesn't have the multiplayer audience that SC has.  The only multiplayer game that can maybe compare to SC for its age, is probably CS (Counter-Strike)... but guess what... CAL and CPL (or at least one of them) is switching from CS to CS:S (counterstrike source... released a few months ago)... HOWEVER, there's no talk of them switching Starcraft touranments to something else.  no sir, SC is still going strong.

i could keep going, but i won't :D

I second that. One of the best games of all time. Even today, that game can still teach a lot of pseudo-publishers how to make and release a real game.
It had everything going for it. A good story, excellent voice acting and CGI cutscene, excellent gameplay and replay value, great balance, awesome music, it had it all. Most of all, Starcraft had that epic feel to it, like very few have managed to replicate to this day. The Protoss story was just overwhelming.
I would place Starcraft in the top 5 games of all time, definitelly.
Infact, i think i´ll install the bugger and play it right now!
No Freespace 3 ?!? Oh, bugger...

Oh, oh, I want to play!

I've got it installed as well. I don't mind a game as well, but i'll be out for around ~14 hours. After that though, dont mind playing :D

I think the game is stupid. its full of n00bs online, matches take little to no strategy and are generally over in 10 minutes or less and victory is heavily based on unit and resource-whoring early in a game. It looks plain ugly, AI is absolute **** and sound effects are bad, why the hell do things pop when they die. It may have a good story (I don't know because I havn't played it beyond a few multiplayer matches) but there are plenty of newer games with good storylines and 3D models/animation.

Besides, a 'friend' has been *****ing about it for almost 3 straight months and it pisses me off to no end.

Wait... You're basing your entire judgement on a few MULTIPLAYER[/b] matches?! Those maps are the lamest, user-rape-world maps ever made! They're certainly going to suck. 9/10 do!

Just because you got your ass whooped in a few multi games it doesnt give you the grounds to say what your saying. N00bs online? hardly so if anything its the opposite. My average game time is about an hour on land maps and 2 hours on air superiority maps. And no strategy? thats hardly so. Just because you just suck at SC doesnt give you the grounds to bash it.

what would "getting my ass whooped online" have anything to do with my opinion. I admit to losing games online, but I have one at least one. My success or failure in a multi game has no bearing on whether or not I like a game, I've played FS2 online and got my ass handed to me and I obviously don't hate that game. And as for noobs, I was in a match where a guy did not have a clue what lag was.
