I'm not sure if the assymetry really works - the Zogs never made any assymetrical capships, closest would probably be the Maat and Satis - I think it distracts from the vasudanness.

It really doesn;t look like anything we've seen from them before.

The Vasudans only have one asymmetrical ship at all (points to Horus) but in general asymmetry plays into Terran designs much better than it does Vasudan ones anyway.  Vas stuff looks organic (like some kind of really twisted turtle, actually), organic objects tend to take on a large degree of symmetry, so it works.  Then you've got the Orion, which has almost no discernable centerline, and which exudes Terran design philosophy.

My thoughts on this is that it is too long and thin to be a FS fighter, and too spindly to be a capship.  It looks good, just needs some bulking up.

I think the top view looks much like a missile\arrow... with a bit of more side "volume", it would look better IMO

other than that, groovy :)
Yeah, I know you were waiting for a very nice sig, in which I was quoting some very famous scientist or philosopher... guess what?!? I wont indulge you...

Why, you ask? What, do I look like a Shivan to you?!?

I could see that being a ship from a race with pure 'ganic tech, but, either by choice or chronolgy, hasn't integrated it to the point where it replaces their older mecha-tech.

I think the main body of the ship would be organic, perhaps with some kind of chitonous hull and the only obvious tech is the crew area/command in the structure that looks like a tower.  It should have a different texture than the rest of the ship.  The main part of the ship should look very insectoid in it's texturing, but that one part should be quite obviously metal, possibly with just the hint that it's attached to the rest of the "organism".

It would probably fit as an ancients ship. They do tend to be super curvey. It would help is we knew what you intended it to be. Is it supposed to be Vasudan? What type is it supposed to be?
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

the ship is more symetrical than it apears. is that a big gun port or a fighterbay.nont the less its the only thing thats really symetcrical about it. like it was a refit of another design.

it could be an older shivan design, like from a million years back in their development. shivan ships look like they are grown out of crystaline material. this could be from a time before they invented that technology.

another idea, hippie shivans :D

Wow, I really like that ship. It looks organic and very alien to me, bet this thing could actually dive underwater. Just to think of it, it could be part spaceship and part submarine. Very cool ship indeed

You may think me crazy, but the first thing I thought when I saw this thing was: Science Vessel, Not Terran.

I have no clue whom it would belong to, but it would do justice as a science vessel.

It's a bit of a bump, but what the hell - haven't been here for a while.

Very nice, Raa - definitely one to finish. I agree with the Ancients idea, though it could look vasudan if it was more symmetrical. Once again I'm jealous of your talents. :)

True. But the model isn't typical of Vasudan design (lack of symmetry), and it doesn't look Terran or Shivan. So the ancients are the only other option from the existing canon - and there may be a hulk or two kicking about in the dark corners of some systems. Unless you say it's Vasudan, in which case I'm not going to argue. :D
