Ha! They were using the artillery laser from "The Cage" as mining lasers!

Of course in the face of cancellation, this 4rth season has been excellent with canon driven stories. LOL canon with cannons...well phaser canon. I kill myself. ROTFL.

There's an interesting shot near the end.  As the flying saucer is about to land on mars (its in the lower atmosphere) you can see some groove patters on its underside, near the center of the circle.  There are alternating grooves that look like "W"'s and "O"'s, so with the perspective of the "camera", it appears to say "WOW" on the "upper end" and "MOM" on the "lower end".

Kinda slow pacing, but a fair episode. Kinda reminded me of the political driven DS9 episodes.

Well, at least we now have an inkling who "future guy" is/was.

EDIT: Correction: It's not the same actor, although it is RoboCop. :D

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I doubt it. How would he have access to the information and technology?

I've always thought Suval (Vulcan jerk off) was the mystery future guy. Sorta sounded like him. I'm just glad they done away with that plot. But its too little and too late for Enterprise to redeem itself as a series. Its been a great season 4.

That would have been great if Archer hailed the flying moon base, "All your base, are belong to us!"

Meh I sort of assumed Archer was mystery future man. Especially due to the episode where Archer returned through the communication device, and they thought he was shadowy figure dude at first.

...and I doubt that the series finale will answer that question. Heh maybe it's Barclay on the Ent D doing the messages in his spare time :p

The guy guiding the Suliban I think, although I didn't consider it until I read the posts here.

Future guy can't be anyone we know, because there just isn't enough reason and backstory behind it. Future guy needs/needed to be an entirely new character, and his reasoning should have been built up over the series. Kind of like how the story of the Shadows was built up over the B5 arc. Instead we just get your typical James Bond type bad guy; "Because I can!". Even Berman himself admitted they hadn't decided what to do about Future Guy. Doesn't give you much confidence in the foundation of the series, eh? Enterprise would have been much better if Manny Coto had been there from the start. No disrespect to Berman and Braga, because they already receive too much flak, more than they deserve considering they HAVE done/taken part some good stuff over the years, but I think Coto would have brought the right kind of ideas to the table, which would have then been developed - Much like the way Season 4 has been handled.

I only mentioned it because I could have sworn it was the same voice, but the ST site lists different actors, so go figure.

There are discussions going on all over the major Trek forums on the web, concerning the final episode. I don't want to spoil anything, you all know how to google, but what I heard sounds disappointing, to say the least. :sigh:
marcet sine adversario virtus.

Of course... all creative effort was put by Braga and Berman. I'll download it. That episode does not deserve any points on Neilson rating system.

It would be a great way for fans to give the final "bird" to B & B.

Two words:

Ent D Riker and Troi...:sigh:

Many names, but always me.
