I get a chance at earning some wings!
I got a slot for U.S. Army Airborne School.

[sarcasm/] I leave June 8th for 3 lovely weeks at Fort Benning, Georgia.  It's going to be cake and ice cream and holding hands around the camp fire singing camp fire songs with SGT Airborne.  Yay!!!![\sarcasm]

Actually, I am pretty excited I get to go.  It is something I've wanted to do.  My biggest fear though is breaking a leg or ankle or something and getting sent home, but I'm pretty light wieght so I should be fine.

Congrats man. You're going in for paratroopers or what?

Fort Benning....that's where they have the SOA, right?  Luck you, South America's finest killers are going to be sleeping right next door.

 Bring lots of sunblock and drink lots of water. It is going to be HOT. Don't forget the mosquitos. They should be hatching right about now.

It's going to be VERY HOT.  Twas 91 here today.
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

Major congrats, dude. :)  Surviving training is tough, but not impossible.

Just don't forget us :)
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

The second one.  Flying a helicopters would be at Fort Rucker, I believe, and takes alot longer than 3 weeks.  Try about 20 months.  That and I'm not a Commission Officer nor a Warrant Officer so I couldn't do that.  :)

I plan on it.  When I was at Fort Jackson last summer it was the same way.

lol, no.  I'm just going there for the school.  There is a difference from being in an Airborne Unit and just going to Airborne School, but if I do get into an Airborne Unit later on then I won't have to go to the school again.  :)

I know it's not impossible, and the PT requirements there aren't that hard for somebody in my physical condition.  That and this is something I've wanted to do so I know I have the will power to complete it as long as I don't break something.  I run 5 miles well under the minimum requirement of 9 minute a mile formation runs.  I normally 5 miles at about 6:30 to 7 minute mile pace anways so that shouldn't be a problem.  The only thing I don't ever max on my APFT is the push-ups and I'm only 5 short there.
