It is a statistical impossiblity to please a majority of a given population for any significant length of time.  The only way to win is to do what needs to be done, whether it's politically advantageous or not.  Much of Western Government has lost this knowledge.

Does the US Navy really think that there is't a French battle re-enactment society, and that they probably re-enact their victories of the UK?
