Yeah, pretty much stuck with XSI or, if you've got the cash, Maya. I view Autodesk like Adobe/Macromedia in the platform strangeness world. Considering how much I loved all of the versions of AutoCAD that I've used in the past (was originally going to be an aerospace engineer before really getting into computers) it's not common for me to say negative things about Autodesk. The lack of Linux support is truely one thing that I loath them for though.
Of course my AutoCAD usage was pre-Windows versions so view that as you will.

EDIT: I'm working on the D3D screenshot in a window problem right now. Not very pretty since it needs to grab the entire screen at the start but it will be working well by the time I'm done.

Try Phreak's new build in the Recent Builds forum and see if that makes a difference. There have been a ton of bug fixes since 3.6.5. At the least give the -dnoshowvid option a try with your current build if you haven't already.
