However, a reduced poly version, which looks just as good, and has far cleaner geometry and comes in at around 13k polys was released a long while back. There's, to the best of my knowledge, two people doing texturing jobs on that model. That's been for a year now. I've heard nothing since.

I've heard two or three people wanting that model so they can work on it, I don't remember who, but, do you have a link to it?

its future pirate to be exact, vaudan tech is a major commodity on the black market. so pirates are partially bioplated or utilize hybrid designs.

i should give jolly rodger a 90 degree turn so it looks better at different angles. that being the only thing i dont like about this ship. the pirate logo is upside down on the lower 2 wings.

Well here's my best model. A deceptively simple looking thing.

No offence, IPAndrews, but we cannot see much from that model on that screen.

Good. It'll disguise the fact that it's not as good as other models posted here.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Cell-shading has been part of the SCP for a while now, but it needs special textures to look good like that. There are textures for the Hecate and Deimos I think, but I'm not sure anyone else has done anything more....

There are a whole bunch more in the mv_cell media vp file. DaBrain is responsible for the majority of them.

You have to add the relevant.... thing to the command line (what the hell are they called??). I think it's -cell for cellshading, but doublecheck in the wiki or readme or something... :nervous:

And cheers for the info, kara - I didn't know that. :)

Pyro... the thing you add to the command line is called a "command" ;)

And it is -cell, though without the mv_cell vp you won't see too much difference.

Stupid question: What's the use of Cell shading if it makes a ship look like cartoonish?

To make the ship look cartoonish.  That's the entire POINT of cell shading.
